Welcome to Stikine Middle School, the home of the Cougars!! Stikine Middle School is located in picturesque Southeastern Alaska and hosts a veteran cadre of highly qualified teachers offering courses in a variety of academic and elective areas.
We have a wonderful art and music program led by state recognized instructors and our extracurricular program is extensive and rewarding. Our middle school currently has 102 students in grades 6-8 and our pupil/teacher ratio is approximately 20:1. We operate on a modified block schedule that provides flexible scheduling and satifying and meaningful learning opportunities for our students.
The Wrangell School District motto is “excel to your potential” and our curriculum is designed so that our students can challenge themselves on a daily basis in an effort to prepare themselves for the rigors of high school and beyond. Stikine has a long history of providing strong educational opportunities and sponsors. We have been recognized by the Department of Education for our curriculum reform efforts in the areas of reading and writing.
Our school is part of a dynamic and giving community that knows we must all work together to ensure the success of our youth, and it is this synergy that makes Stikine Middle School truly unique.
All classes and programs at Wrangell Public Schools are offered to students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex or disability.
