· The Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Alaska State Handbook, and local school board policy regulate Special Education at Wrangell Public Schools.
· Children from the ages of 3 to their 22nd birthday are provided special education and related services based upon eligibility criteria. A teacher at the elementary school and one at the middle and high schools coordinate special education and related services for the district.
· Anyone concerned about a possible lack of progress or performance of a child based upon a suspected disability should contact either Dianne Silva or Jeanne Soles.
· Wrangell Public Schools provides all necessary referral, diagnostic, and planning services for students requiring special education and related services.
